JTM Presents: Erin & The Wildfire and The Schooley Mountain Band!

Jet Trails Media Presents! Carly's Birthday at Cary St. Cafe!

Cary St. Cafe || Saturday, April 15, 2017 || Doors @ 9:00PM || Music @ 10:00 || 21+ || $5 at the door

ERIN & THE WILDFIRE:: https://www.erinandthewildfire.com/

Erin and the Wildfire is an emerging band based out of Charlottesville, Va. Their unique brand of soulful rock has helped to establish them as one of the premier up-and-coming acts in the vibrant local music scene. The group's sound combines the raw funk-infused energy of the Wildfire with powerful and expressive lead vocals from frontwoman Erin Lunsford.

THE SCHOOLEY MOUNTAIN BAND:: http://www.schooleymountainband.com/

The Schooley Mountain Band is a NYC / New Jersey based blues-rock experience. Founded in 2012 by cousins Madison Gerish (vocals, guitar) and Michael Rieckert (guitar), the SMB delivers soulful, melodic vocals over driving and groovy jams.

While The Schooley Mountain Band's material is rooted in frontwoman Madison Gerish's early career as an acoustic singer/songwriter, it has since progressed into a dynamic and high-energy sound, without abandoning Gerish's melodic folk origins. In late 2013, former Psychedelic Hat Rack members and musical wizards Aydar Shaildayev (bass, keys), Dan Novograd (guitar) and Jackson Richards (drums) joined to round out The Schooley Mountain Band's versatile line-up.

JTM Presents: A St. Patrick's Day DancePartyThrowDown PART DUEX

Jet Trails Media Presents! St. Patricks Day at The Camel!

The Camel || Friday, March 17, 2017 || Doors @ 8:00PM || Music @ 9:00 || 21+ || $5 in adv. / $7 at the door

Save $2 and get your tickets in advance here with no services fees:http://bit.ly/2lNc0IG

Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us for the second year in a row! Last year was a such a banger that we're throwing another funky St. Party's rager with two big band party explosions from DC, Black Masala and Of Tomorrow, RVA's own Andrew Rohlk Trio and Baltimore's live exploration dance duo Schwa (featuring Ben Carrey of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong)!

BLACK MASALA:: http://www.blackmasala.com/

Brassy Washington DC-based multicultural outfit, Black Masala, is part of the new generation of go-anywhere brass bands. You can hear this sound all over the world now – from New Orleans (Hot 8) to Belgrade (Boban & Marko Markovic), Paris (Fanfarai) to Cotonou (Gangbe Brass Band), and right here on the east coast area as well (Red Baraat & No BS! Brass). A major party alert for this band – Black Masala puts on an amazing, high-energy live show that features brass, tuba, accordion, electric guitar, drums and vocals.

OF TOMORROW:: http://bandoftomorrow.com/

Genre-melding and blending, breaking and remaking, the band Of Tomorrow derives its sound straight from the future. Pulling from all corners of the music spectrum, Geoff Browning (guitar, vocals), Jonathan Modell (drums), Nicholas Söderström (bass), and a rotating cast of hand-picked collaborators never cease to bring the beat to the street.

ANDREW ROHLK TRIO:: https://www.facebook.com/andrewrohlkmusic/

Andrew Rohlk, born and raised in Richmond, VA, has sung, danced, and played music from a young age with various levels of clothing on. Things really got moving and grooving when he picked up the guitar at 13 and began writing songs soon after. Andrew Rohlk’s style of Jazzy, R&B Pop songs are vignettes from his life detailing love, loss, worries, wishes, and wisdom. These songs work best in a live setting with a healthy dose of audience interaction, and it is his hope that this exchange will help bridge the gap between the audience and the stage.

SCHWA:: http://Facebook.com/SchwaBaltimore

When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Schwa."

JTM Presents: Sammi Lanzetta, Hot Reader, and Suneater at CSC!

Jet Trails Media Presents!

Cary St. Cafe || Saturday, February 18, 2017 || Doors @ 9:00PM || Music @ 10:00 || 21+ || $7 at the door

Come out to our first show of the year at Cary St. Cafe featuring Sammi Lanzetta, Hot Reader, and Suneater!

SAMMI LANZETTA:: https://sammilanzetta.bandcamp.com/

Dog enthusiast and author of the RVA Mag sex and advice column Lurid Lanzetta, Sammi self-describes her music as anxiety rock. She also yelled at Bill Clinton once.

HOT READER:: https://hotreader.bandcamp.com/releases

Hot Reader is a Richmond-based four-piece plying the psychic craft with audacious licks and a reverence for classic pop songwriting.

Formed in late 2015 by way of reddit serendipity, its members have roots in the local spheres of punk rock (Pissing Contest), jazz/funk (Brunswick, Devil's Workshop) and hip hop (MC Chicken). In keeping with their diverse roots, the boys blend pop, indie, soul, and progressive forms to create a sound that is equal parts drive and groove, croon and howl, shred and swing.

SUNEATER:: https://suneaterrva.bandcamp.com/

Long ago, a powerful force rose from the darkest reaches of the desert wasteland planet, Üstéril. Thus The Suneater Clan, children of Ghoulah, Grazer of Galaxies, came into power, conquering any and all in their way with aural abominations screeching forth from their souls. Now they've come to planet Earth to continue their quest of total domination.

TOXIC MOXIE https://toxicmoxie.bandcamp.com/

Tearing their way up and down the east coast in their rusty blue conversion van, Richmond heartthrobs Toxic Moxie have been winning over diverse audiences of punx, hippies, EDM kids and everyone in between with their instantly accessible brand of Dirty Disco Punk. Whether they are falling asleep face down on your carpet or pressuring you to finish your bottle of whiskey, it’s always a party. But take a moment to reflect on the substance found on their three EP series, and one finds a much deeper well of inspiration that draws from progressive politics and social issues in a context larger than the houses, bars, and clubs that they turn into delirious sweat orgies.

IMAGINARY SONS https://imaginarysons.bandcamp.com/

Imaginary Sons is a power trio. Three members. You know what else has three things? A triangle. Illuminati confirmed.

HEADLESSMANTIS http://www.headlessmantis.com/

So slime. Rock n roll. Punk junk. Share with yo frands so HEADLESSMANTIS can get every booty grooving.

ASHES https://www.facebook.com/ashesrva/

One of Richmond's most raw up-and-coming bands. Andrew Harrison fronts this project with his emotionally striking vocals and socially charged lyrics. Heavy synthesizers creep up from the floor boards and shatter into self-reflective pieces of mirror that slice into your face like a dull and rusted razor blade leaving you bloodied and confused but screaming for more.

JTM: Lightfields, the Wimps, Get in the Car, Recluse Raccoon

All Ages || $5 Advance / $7 Day of Show

LIGHTFIELDS:: http://www.lightfields.org/

Lightfields is the band that lives inside your head and just won't leave even if you paid them to.

THE WIMPS:: http://thewimpsrva.bandcamp.com/

The Wimps wear suspenders. They make 60s soul and surf songs that are catchy and thoughtful, with a left turn or two.

GET IN THE CAR :: http://getinthecar.bandcamp.com/

Get in the Car is a moving target, never resting in one place, always heading towards parts unknown. Angular punk rock collides with swirling synth flourishes, buzz saw guitar, and unhinged vocals, all grounded by a singularly propulsive rhythm section. Noir-like narratives lead the listener through real and imagined histories, telling tales of patriarchal megalomania, unsolved mysteries, and the obscenely wealthy. Get in the Car is a gender bending vehicle fueled with love and friendship, steadfastly opposed to the hatred and bigotry of the establishment.

RECLUSE RACCOON :: https://soundcloud.com/recluseraccoon

Recluse Raccoon started as a recording project/duo between childhood friends Timmy Peel and Austin Tekamp while they were growing up in Norfolk, va. Timmy eventually moved to Richmond for school and continued writing and recording solo, only to eventually be reunited with Austin when he moved in 2014. They recorded the Horse ep shortly after and would occasionally play shows as a 2 piece, one of which was at OUR house in the summer of 2015. It was there they met Andrew Murray, who within days of meeting the duo, wound up moving into timmy's apartment and learning bass parts. They are currently in the process of recording their first full length album, to be released through Crystal Pistol Records in 2017.

JTM Presents: LITZ, Mikrowaves, and Moogatu

Jet Trails Media Presents!

The Camel || Saturday, November 19, 2016 || Doors @ 8:00PM || Music @ 9:00 ||
All Ages || $7 Advance / $10 Day of Show

Get your SERVICE FEE-FREE tickets here: https://jettrailsmedia.yapsody.com/event/index/52237/litz-moogatu-and-mikrowaves

JTM is excited to welcome two bands relatively new to the RVA Scene but who you've undoubtedly seen at various festivals over the past few summers. LITZ brings their unique blend of funk and progressive to us from Frederick, MD; Lockn' Alumni Moogatu brings the shreddy jams from NoVA, and Mikrowaves is gonna bring it all home with the River City Rock. Let's show this guys some RVA love and rock the funk out with 'em!

LITZ:: https://funkylitzmusic.com/

LITZ brings together a wide array of musical influences ranging from funk, jam, go-go, soul, electronica and just about everywhere in between to amalgamate a new sound for the ears of the world. Their sound strides to sonic-ly transport its listeners to another planet free of the stress, struggles, and tribulations of modern day life through the use of funky horn riffs, wah-wah keys, pounding bass, driving/progressive rhythms and melt your face guitar.

MIKROWAVES:: http://www.mikrowavesmusic.com/

It’s like a beach party in space and everyone is best friends. Mikrowaves, based out of Richmond, VA, combine explosive grooves and trance-like rhythms with cathartic melody, setting them far above and beyond the herd. This is new music. This is right now. And it’s funky as all hell.

Mikrowaves is led by front man Edward Prendergast, and the music is the fruit of his twenty plus years of musical exploration. Growing up on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., Prendergast was exposed to the city's vibrant cultural scene, which inevitably taught him what it means to be an artist. Moving to Richmond, Virginia to study jazz, Prendergast joined salsa band Bio Ritmo and immersed himself in the world of Afro-Carribean rhythms. From Miami to New Haven and all points in between, Eddie’s life in the business led him to the idea of Mikrowaves, a band with the raw sound of blues, filtered through latin rhythms and funked up with a gogo swing.

Inspired by R.L. Burnside, Mexican cumbiancheros Los Master Plus, and the upcoming birth of his first child, Prendergast decided that the world was finally ready for Mikrowaves. He reached out to his friends and colleagues, trumpeter Bob Miller (Bio Ritmo/ Fear of Music), low brass master Toby Whitaker, saxophonist John Lilley (Bio Ritmo), drummer Kelli Strawbridge (Jellowstone/ Ropeadope Records), and percussionist Hector 'Coco' Barez (Calle 13) to help him achieve his vision. Together they recorded their first album in 2014, “Get Nuked,” alongside co-producer John Panos (Mates of State). “Get Nuked” is eight tracks of The Biggest Beat. Pure, unfiltered, raw, roots, space funk.

Mikrowaves can be found every last Thursday of each month at Cary St. Café in Richmond, VA. The band has plans for the release of another album in the summer of 2016. Come experience the Brogga!

MOOGATU:: http://www.moogatu.net/

Moogatu has planted the first seeds for a unique blend of funky, shreddy progressive rock just outside of the nation's capital in bucolic northern Virginia. Soaring dual lead guitars and a pulsing rhythm section bring the quintet's inviting songcraft and creative improvisations to an audience that grows at every club and festival. Moogatu is carving its niche with high energy sets that keep people grooving long into the night. Moogatu is: Brian Raubacher (guitar, vocals) Chris Lee (guitar), Jeff Hunter (drums), Brian Zupruk (bass, vocals)

Moogatu has shared bills with: moe., EOTO, Ron Holloway, Dopapod, Keller Williams, Tea Leaf Green, Steve Kimock, The Werks, Kung Fu, Conspirator, The Pimps of Joytime, Zoogma, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Perpetual Groove, DrFameus, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Melvin Seals, The Mantras, Papadosio, Boombox, Jimkata, Tiny Boxes, Former Champions, Silo Effect, The Shack Band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Freedom Enterprise and Galaxy Dynamite.
